The Blaser R93 is far more than just a hunting rifle – it's a hunting system that delivers unparalleled performance and versatility.

While most bolt actions are simply a variation of military actions first produced at the turn of the last century, Blaser's engineers developed a completely new system that is inherently accurate, strong and durable. The action does not depend on just two opposing locking lugs, but locks into the barrel with a radial locking arrangement that provides a 360-degree ring of steel that is much stronger and greatly increases contact surfaces, reducing wear. The bolt locks directly into a free-floating barrel and centers the cartridge for each shot, making the R93 one of the most accurate rifles ever produced.

The straight-pull action also offers considerable advantages in speed and smoothness, allowing a faster second shot and less time between shots. The bolt is simply drawn rearward to accomplish extraction. Pushing the bolt forward chambers a new round and avoids the 90-degree turn required by most bolt actions.

Even more unique than its straight-pull action, is the R93's ability to change between calibers. In just a few seconds, a hunter could switch from a .223 Remington to a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum with three parts. A new caliber requires a new barrel and supplied magazine and the appropriate size bolt head, determined by the cartridge's case-head diameter. The standard caliber group includes 19 different calibers from .22-250 to .30-06 to 9.2x62mm. The magnum caliber group includes many of the Weatherby, short and long Winchester and Holland & Holland magnums. Within these groups, all that is needed to change calibers is a new barrel and supplied magazine.

Since the optic attaches to the barrel, there is no loss of zero when changing calibers. Semi weight barrels are available for those who prefer the stability and accuracy of heavier tubes. A match-grade barrel is available for varmint and predator hunters or those trying their hand at local shooting competitions. No other rifle in the world comes close to matching the R93's ability to match the hunting situation with the perfect caliber and optic.

The R93, like other Blaser rifles, is extremely safe. The rifle is made ready to fire by pushing the cocking lever forward, compressing the firing pin spring. This quiet, intuitive motion can be completed in a second and reversed just as easily to bring the rifle back to a completely safe condition. The direct, sear-less trigger is smooth and without creep, giving the hunter one more advantage and one less worry when making that critical shot.

Just as one can customize the caliber, the finish options available to hunters are nearly endless. Synthetic stocks and matte finishes can provide hunters with a utilitarian rifle or highly figured walnut can complement fine English Arabesques and hand-engraved game scenes to create a work of functional art. The quality of materials and precise manufacture ensures the rifle will be appreciated and used for generations.

When the Blaser design team set out to create the ultimate hunting rifle, it started with five design criteria—safety, accuracy, reliability, huntability and versatility. The R93 not only meets these criteria, but surpasses them to become the world's most innovative hunting rifle system.
